Jul 9, 2021 | Las Vegas, Visit

If you are planning to head to Las Vegas sometime soon, you’ll want to take some photos of all the unusual places so you can share them with your friends and family. Since Las Vegas is known as the Entertainment Capital of the World, it has tons of locations that provide some of the best photo opportunities. You’ll find a wide range of places here, from hotels to museums, restaurants, art galleries, and natural scenery. To help you save time, we have come up with a list of the best places to take a selfie in Las Vegas.

1. Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

The first place everyone should head to when visiting Vegas for the first time is the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign. The welcome sign can be found on the south side of the Strip, located in the media at 5100 Las Vegas Boulevard. It’s one of the most iconic signs in the world, and it’s also one of the more popular Las Vegas photo spots, which means you’ll be competing against others to get the best photo spot in this area.

There is a tip we can offer you when it comes to taking a picture with the sign. Most people tend to try to take a picture from in front of the sign, but most people rarely take one from an angle. If you can sneak to the side without the other visitors noticing, you’ll be able to take a nice photo and not get in the middle of someone else’s shot as well.

The place isn’t too far from most hotels, but it all depends on where you’re staying. Several hotels are close to it, so you could just walk there, but if you are far enough, then call for a ride. There is also a small parking area near the sign if you have rented a vehicle.

2. Fremont Street Experience

The Fremont Street Experience is five blocks long and is jam-packed with all sorts of things that would attract any tourists to visit. The entire street is filled with bright lights and some of the most well-known casinos in the world, creating an excellent background for any photoshoot. While you’re here, take a picture from underneath Vegas Vic, the famous neon smoking cowboy, or the colorful backgrounds of the Fremont District murals. You can even head to higher grounds and snap some selfies with the marquee in the background by going to the top level of the Binions parking garage.

3. Seven Magic Mountains

The Seven Magic Mountains is one of the best spots to take an excellent selfie while in Las Vegas. This astonishing art installation is located outside of the city, in the middle of the desert, and was created by a Swiss artist by the name of Ugo Rondinone in 2016. There are seven painted totems made up of colorful boulders. The Seven Magic Mountains is located 20 miles away from the Vegas Strip, so you’ll need to rent a car or call for a ride. Furthermore, the entrance to this place and parking is free.

Since this is a very popular place for people to visit and take selfies, you should consider coming as early as possible. There are usually fewer people around during the morning, so you’ll be able to snap some shots without having to deal with so many people being in the background. Furthermore, the lightning is less intense compared to the later hours of the day.

4. The Atrium at the Wynn

The Wynn has one of the most magnificent lobbies in all of Las Vegas, making it an excellent spot to take a selfie. As soon as you step into the hotel, you’ll be blasted with an extravaganza of color and floral decoration. The entire lobby was created by a famous event designer by the name of Preston Bailey. He even designed the hot air balloon that can be found at the Wynn main gate, along with the blossoming carousel near the south gate. If you decide to take a selfie in this location, make sure to pay a visit to Parasol Up and Parasol Down. It is the sister lounge for this location, and they are also another excellent location for a selfie.

Just like the previous locations, the best time to take a selfie at this Vegas photo location is when the lobby isn’t too busy. So your best bet is to head into the lobby during the morning time since there is less traffic during those hours.

5. Leo the Lion

The MGM Grand is known for many things, but one of the best spots to take a selfie is right in front of Leo the Lion. Leo is considerably easy to find since it’s the first thing you’ll see the moment you walk into the building. The statue of the golden lion was made in recognition of the original Wizard of Oz theme it had decades ago. Leo is frequently dressed up in a variety of clothing, based on the seas and current events happening around the city. So make sure you stop by and take a selfie with Leo. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it.

6. The Bellagio Fountains

The Bellagio fountains are one of the most iconic locations in Las Vegas. If you are visiting the city, then you have to make a stop at the Bellagio Fountains. Take some time to admire the fantastic show display it provides for its guests. The fountain looks strikingly amazing during the nighttime, but regardless of when you arrive there, make sure to take a selfie. If you get there when the show goes on, even better, you can take one while the water show happens in the background.

7. Downtown Street Art

The Downtown area is filled with so much enjoyable street art, including installations and murals created over the years from the annual Life is Beautiful festival. Interestingly enough, some of the best street art can be found in the alleyways. While these back alleys are typically used by local businesses to leave out the trash for pickup, the entire alleyway is loaded with some beautiful imagery in an attempt to improve them. There are so many spots for you to take selfies, that you’ll be using up your entire memory bank before you can get all of the best angles.

8. Waterfall Atrium

If you want to post a selfie on your social media page that will have everyone commenting on your post, then you need to head over to the Waterfall Atrium. The location has an immense LOVE sculpture that is made up of steel. It’s become one of the most popular spots for people to take a selfie while remaining or visiting the Venetian resort. The atrium also has an excellent backdrop that includes a waterfall cascading down from the second level, a rectangular fountain, and some type of rotating seasonal display.

9. Eiffel Tower

Ever wanted to visit Paris and take a picture with the Eiffel Tower in the background? Well, now you can, sort of. While the Eiffel Tower found in Las Vegas is a replica of the actual one, it’s still quite an impressive display. The replica of the Eiffel Tower can be seen from all sorts of places around the Strip. You can find a spot that provides you with an excellent angle to take a selfie with it in the background, or you can ride up to the observation deck at the top to take some photos of the sweeping views 460 feet above the city.

10. Abbey Road Crossing

If you’re a fan of The Beatles, you need to visit this next location for a selfie. The recreation of the iconic Abbey Road crossing extends from Fremont Street to El Cortez Casino. The area is sometimes used for some music events, so make sure you check up to see if it’s available before heading out. The location has even had Ringo Starr himself pay a visit while pressing his hands deep into concrete on the sidewalk.

11. Conservatory & Botanical Garden

Another excellent location that you need to stop by and snap a selfie while you’re in Las Vegas is the Conservatory & Botanical Garden found at the Bellagio lobby. The attraction is entirely free and features seasonal floral displays in elaborate yet colorful designs that are planned by professionals months ahead. However, since it’s one of the most popular touring spots in Las Vegas, you will be competing against other people to not only check out the place but take a selfie as well. If you want to take a picture here, then you should head in during the early morning hours when there are likely to be fewer people loading up the background.

12. Wallflower Cannabis House

While you are here, stop by Wallflower Cannabis House. Since recreational use of cannabis has been legalized in Nevada, you can take this opportunity to further enhance your trip while you are here.
